About

Jordi Tate is a design and drafting practice based in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, providing architectural drafting and design services across residential and commercial projects.

The practice was established by Jordi Tate, who brings together a background in architectural drafting, structural drafting and visual design. Having worked within both architectural and structural disciplines, Jordi offers a practical understanding of the relationship between design intent, buildability and construction, ensuring projects are thoughtfully resolved from concept through to documentation.

The practice is interested in projects of all scales, from renovations, secondary dwellings and new homes through to commercial developments and change of use applications. Every project is approached as a unique response to its site, context and client brief. Design is considered a collaborative process, with close consultation throughout each stage to ensure the outcome reflects the client's vision, budget and functional requirements.

The studio believes that good design is achieved through the balance of aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. Careful consideration is given to how buildings sit within their environment, how they are experienced by the people who use them, and how they can be delivered efficiently and practically.

Originally from the UK, Jordi relocated to Australia before making the Northern Rivers home. The region's relaxed lifestyle, natural landscape and strong design culture continue to influence the practice's approach to creating simple, considered and enduring design.
